Okay Opponauts, here are the rules:
$100k budget
Only 2 cars
They have to be new
Yes, I know many of us would prefer a lot of old cars, but these are the rules. Here is my 2 car garage.
DD: Chevy Volt $27k
Weekend/Autox/Track: Porch-uh Cayman with ceramics and sport suspension $63k
The rest of my budget will go into necessary things for the Cayman like tires, etc.
And Go!

I already have half of those cars, haha. I like your style.

Wasn't kissing ass. Really, if I was in the market for a new car, I'd shop around but something tells me I'd walk away with a 2.

Caterham 620R
$73k
Mustang Ecoboost w/PP
$27K

It is a lot of fun to hoon around in, I would recommend it.

Fusion Titanium with 2.0L EcoBoost
Ram 1500 5.7L quad cab, 4wD.
And uh, the rest of the money is for gas and insurance.

Not a fan of the Stang, but that caterham is a fantastic pick. I may have to rethink the cayman..

Interesting choices, not my style though.

Have you driven the 991 base C2?
I have a 997 C2. My Dad's gf has a 991 Carrera Cab
I can't stand her car
I dunno if I'd like it more if it was the lighter coupe
But her car drives my insane. You have to rev the piss out of the downsized 3.4L to get it going
When I drove a current gen Cayman S loaner it felt totally different. That car almost felt like it had too much power.
I think I'd take the Cayman S over the stripper 911

Just kidding haha, I like it.

I know I'd be giving up alot, I just need a rear-engine Porsche with rear "seats". The rules of the game were 2 cars, but I'd probably NEVER drive the 2 (or a Carrera S to compare). :-)x

E63 AMG sedan. Just over $95k.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:31 |

Ok so only new cars then....
RWD Reg. Cab Long Box (with spray in liner) V8 $31,895 (3500 cash back apparently there is a sale) Could be red or blue, but I just have to go with Victory red.
and coming in at $57,925 is a car I truly wish I had the funds to have is this stunning 435i with all the options I want. Esotril blue is the only color I want for this.

But.... 2 cars...

I have to have 2 cars?
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:32 |

Definitely don't drive the S!
I got to drive the 991 C2S at an AutoX put on by Porsche when the car launched.
Mother of God...
It makes my stripper 997 feel like a kit car

Chevy Silverado LT Z71 Double Cab: $45,195
Cadillac ATS 3.6L Premium: $47,745
Whatever's left over might go towards a used camper.

2014 Focus ST - $26440
2014 Shelby GT500 - $58395

I currently drive this
and I just think it's the Bee's knees! 2004 Seville SLS. FWD v8, super roomy, enough power for me, just love it. the XTS only build on where they left off with this.
CTS= constantly too small
ATS= Alright, tighter still
The XTS hits all the marks I want in a car. Roomy, AWD, while I enjoy the FWD I wouldn't mind AWD more so in the winter. No use for RWD. It's not a sports car just a big comfy land yacht. Oh yeah! Sorry..

"… I wouldn't mind AWD more so in the winter. No use for RWD. …." I mean ….
Also its fairly well known its just a stopgap product, and I thought the CTS got bigger with this gen.

Agree with the Tacoma. Awesome truck, and dead reliable.

2015 Subaru WRX for dd, autocross, and for hauling. ($26-$30k)
2015 Corvette Stingray with z51 package or the new z06/7 depending on pricing for the track and weekends or whenever. ($60-$??k)
![]() 07/10/2014 at 23:23 |

Thought of this so fast because its perfect. Alfa 4C ($55-70k) & a WRX ($25-34k)
I'd have to choose between the launch edition of the 4C or the STI, but either way you'd have a fantastic all weather DD with a spectacular sports car.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 23:25 |

A Fiesta, base model, maybe with a few trimmings. $15-17k
FPV GT-F. $77k, and the last FPV ever.
Not sure which I'd use as DD, though.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 23:33 |

If the 4c came with a stick I would have chosen it..

I know, I know. RWD is fine in a get around town with some snow on the roads sense of things. How ever, I like to travel, alot and in the winter that can't be changed because of snow. Give me a blizzard and I'll still do 400 miles in it. RWD is just not the best choice for such behavior. I've lived it, done and it sucked.period.
Sweet video thanks! I don't car what Matt has to say, I still want it! If anything that video made me want it more! but def would need the turbo! it honestly sounds like the spiritual successor to my car. hell it looks like they laid it out on the inside a lot like it too! Honestly, I know it's weird. I'm weird. I'm 30 years old and bought my dream car. a '04 Seville SLS. not even a STS! I had a '05 RWD v8 STS. HATED IT! sold my '02 SLS for it. that's one of my worst poor life choices. right next to loving 4th/5th gen sevilles. ha Sorry man the XLS just sounds great
and yeah the CTS has gotten bigger but they still feel small on the inside. too sporty, less comfy. more tight and packed in than roomy and flowing. I'm not in it to show off, or flash any thing about. I don;t need a S Class, i want a large comfy car thats as He said over and over is a nice place to be. I love just being in my caddy, it is a nice place to be. sure it's no 5 star suite on the 4 seasons here. it's not the best built or have the best leathers. but it's got really comfy seats, is a hell of a lot more niblle than a 4000lb FWD car should be, has a very nice stero and a sunroof. get out of working my normal 10hour day pulling tech support calls all day, spark up a cig, kick on the XM radio and cruise! it floats but it's not floaty. it cruises at 75 turning 1800rpm's can dart about through traffic with no effort. it's just such a nice place to be.. and to me that's what I invision the XTS is, a modern version of that.

Porsche tried to buy VAG and turn the company into PVAG. But that didn't work.
You can't buy VAG...
